Jayson Fann has made himself a huge part of Big Sur’s Spirit Garden with his contribution in design and construction of some of the more spiritual pieces in the garden at all. Human sized nests are built up in the surrounding areas with harvested wood from collected pieces out of the nearby local forests. The harvested wood pieces are typically Eucalyptus and are carefully collected by hand.
This 8 person nest took almost 3 trailer loads of giant wood sticks transported to the Spirit Gardens after 4 to 5 days of harvesting. The nests are then constructed like a puzzle and screwed together to ensure rigidity. Jayson also makes nests for private residences and the finished product is simply amazing.
